The flight data collection unit – BSPI-4-2 ser. 2 is part of BUR-1-2 ser. 2. The unit is placed on a mounting frame, mounted on shock absorbers, and installed in the radio compartment between frames 19 and 20. On the front panel of the unit are installed code devices UCO-1-15 and UCO-1-12, which serve to link the system to a particular aircraft . Connecting the aircraft cable to BSPI-4-2 ser. 2 is carried out with the help of a cutting connector of the RPKM type. To prevent incorrect installation of the unit in the design of the cutting connector, there are index bushings on the block BSPI-4-2 ser. 2 and, respectively, the index pins on the mating connector on the frame.

BSPI-4-2 ser. 2 performs the following functions:

Converting the voltage of the onboard circuit + 27V DC into a stabilized voltage + 5V DC for powering the potentiometric sensors.
Transformation of sensor input signals through 25 channels, of which:
6 channels are programmed to receive signals from two- and three-wire sensors of various types, as well as potentiometric sensors;
8 channels are programmed to receive signals from two-wire and potentiometric sensors;
5 channels are for receiving frequency signals.
Registration of one-off teams.
Scaling and normalization of signals.
Converting normalized analog signals to digital form.
Formation of the signaling frequency f for synchronization of the operation of the other BUR-1-2 units ser. 2.
Formation of output information in the form of a serial two-frequency when, and also in the form of a bipolar code.
The information code generated in the block BSPI-4-2 ser. 2 on a two-wire line goes to the accumulators ZBN-1-3 sulfur. 3, where the collected and converted flight information is recorded.

In the block BSPI-4-2 ser. 2 there is a stabilized power supply with a voltage of 5V for supplying potentiometric sensors.
