To measure the level of vibration of structural elements of aircrafts and aircraft engines, on-board vibration measuring instruments of the IW series are used, which include an electronic BE unit.
The vibration sensor is a permanent magnet placed inside the coil. The magnet is springs centered on the measuring axis of the sensor. In the presence of vibrations, the sensor body with the coil oscillates relative to a permanent magnet, practically remaining at rest. In this case, the EMF is induced in the coil, the magnitude of which is proportional to the speed of the magnet moving relative to the coil. The voltage received at the output of the coil is amplified in the electronic unit BE-9E and goes to the indicator of the vibration meter.
In the BE-9E block, a signal is also generated about the attainment of the maximum permissible level of vibrations, which ensures the activation of the signaling. The scale of the pointer is graduated in units of vibration speed mm / s. On the index there is a mechanical index, which allows to determine the level of vibrations at which the “dangerous vibration” warning light comes on.
The electronic unit BE-9E with the mounting base is installed in the cargo cabin between the frames No. 1 and No. 2.
